Octopus Hub

Privacy Policy

A plain-language explanation of how Octopus Hub handles information in the iOS app and on this website.

At a glance

Who we are and data controller

Octopus Hub Ltd (company no. 17425523) is responsible for this app and website. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. You can contact us at hello@octopushub.app.

What stays on your device

Documents, photos, camera frames, conversions, Organiser or library content, and free-tier speech or text processing stay on your device. Octopus Hub Ltd does not receive, upload or access this content. Local usage counts and settings also stay on your device.

An API credential you choose to use is stored in your iPhone Keychain. It is not synced by Octopus Hub.

Links you save or check

When you save or check a web link in Organiser, the app may make direct requests to the link itself and to related preview or resource URLs, such as an image. Each destination and its infrastructure may receive normal connection and request metadata, including your IP address, the time and the requested URL. Your saved library and its content remain on your device; these direct requests are an exception to the app’s otherwise on-device handling.

Optional cloud processing

Some clearly labelled premium features may send only the inputs needed for that feature, such as speech audio or recognised text, directly to the cloud provider named on the consent screen. This happens over an encrypted connection and only after you give explicit consent at the point of use. Camera frames are not sent for this purpose.

Octopus Hub Ltd does not receive or store that content. The provider’s own terms and privacy notice govern its processing and retention. You can withdraw your consent, turn Pro off, or remove your API credential; this stops future transmissions from the app.

Payments and paid features

If paid features are offered, Apple handles purchases and payment details. Octopus Hub receives only the entitlement or status needed to unlock a feature, not your card details.

Support and contact

If you email us, we receive the email address, message and attachments that you choose to send. We use them to answer and support your enquiry, and keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle it or meet legal obligations.

Website

This static website has no account, form, advertising, analytics, tracking pixels or nonessential cookies. Hosting and security providers may process basic connection and request data, such as IP address, device or browser information, time and request, to deliver and protect the site. Those providers keep that data only as needed to deliver or protect the site, under their terms and configuration.

Why we use information

We do not sell personal data, share it for advertising, profile people, or make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Sharing and international processing

We use Apple for purchases where applicable, the optional cloud provider named at consent, and website or email hosting providers only where needed to run the service. As a company policy, we require service providers handling app information to protect it consistently with this notice and applicable law. Processing outside the UK may occur. Where applicable, it is covered by a UK adequacy regulation or another permitted safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs); the mechanism depends on the provider and location. Contact hello@octopushub.app for details or a copy of the applicable safeguard.

Retention and deletion

Local content remains on your device until you delete, export, remove it or remove the app. Local consent, settings and usage totals remain on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Cloud input is not stored by Octopus Hub; provider retention is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy notice. Support correspondence is kept only for the purpose and period described above.

Your rights

Where applicable, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of personal information we hold. You can withdraw your consent at any time for optional cloud processing. To use these rights, contact hello@octopushub.app. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes and contact

We may update this notice as Octopus Hub develops. We will post the updated date here. For questions, contact hello@octopushub.app.
